Commercial Description:
The laws protecting the brewing of kolsch are as strict as the German Purity Law of 1516. Kolsch beer can only be brewed within the city of Cologne. As the best-known kolsch brewery, Gaffel's flavor is derived from an ale yeast that is "lagered" (or aged) in cold cellars. Gaffel is pale, faintly fruity with a crisp, hop finish. Enjoy as an aperitif or digestif.

bottle brings back memories of sitting at a barstub in Köln years before a superb Kölsch just received a proper glass for this and got a 6 pack golder in color with a good head very well balanced and true to German traditions. My bet would be draft even better. or even better to have one in the beautiful city of Köln

I have really been enjoying the Kolsch style beers lately and this is a prime example of why. Pours a great pale yellow with little head. Smells of grass, malt and a little hops. Very nice light beer. The perfect lawnmower beer. This would be a good gateway drug.

Bottle Pours pale yellow with a white head. Malty aroma with grain, grass, and hops. Light citrus even. Medium body. Flavor is sweet clean malt, grain and a short and light hoppy finish. Not bad, your average, extremely drinkable kolsch.

This is refreshingly different. Slightly spicy hoppiness, with a mild malt background. Pretty clean on the palate, but has aboslutely no finish.

Garrafa, 330 ml. Coloração amarela com um fantástico creme bege, muito denso e incrivelmente persistente. Evidente lúpulo, num conjunto bem harmônico. Embora amarga, é refrescante, possuindo boa drinkability. Ótima kölsch!

Several glasses at Raleigh Times, Raleigh. Handsome looking pour, crisp carbonation, and a fairly nice body, just the ticket at the end of a warm day. Nice bright hops in the nose and they’re quite sharp in the initial tasting. Some yeast and spice in there, but it tickers out towards the end. Not bad.

Golden clear with look-before-its-gone small white. Very clean tasting, but lacking in depth. Perhaps I expected too much here.

Bottle. Quite hoppy and moderate malty smell. Small foamy-creamy white head, fast disappearing. Clear golden body. Moderate sweet and light bitter, short duration. Light body, dry, lively carbonation.
