Commercial Description:
The laws protecting the brewing of kolsch are as strict as the German Purity Law of 1516. Kolsch beer can only be brewed within the city of Cologne. As the best-known kolsch brewery, Gaffel's flavor is derived from an ale yeast that is "lagered" (or aged) in cold cellars. Gaffel is pale, faintly fruity with a crisp, hop finish. Enjoy as an aperitif or digestif.

I like this one. It reminds me of some kind of lager and wheat beer combo. I’m not sure if I could drink too much of it, it is pretty pale and pretty corny, but there is some nice yeasty presence that really gives it a great refreshing lemon taste when it is cold. Not bad.

Bottle. Golden colour with a large white head. Light fruity aroma. Clean, crisp and refreshing, lightly fruity with a hoppy finish. Pretty good, like to try it on draught.

Poured gold with a large head, tasted very fresh, more flavor than other kolschs I’ve had. Fruity, My bottle was brought from Germany by my wife(God bless her!) So may be fresher, and handled less than other samples.

(bottle) A fairly standard lager. Not as fizzy as some, but not as flavorful either. Nothing special.

Draft: poured golden yellow with a big white head. Light fruit aroma with lemons and oranges. Clean flavor with mostly a light lemon flavor. Light corn and yeast. A nice beer.

Bottle. Pale golden colour, small white head. Ok bitterness, otherwise quite clean and crisp flavour. Nice enough beer, but quite one-dimensional.

Pours a clear bright golden with a fluffy white head that leaves some lacing in my glass, bready and fruity aromas. Apple, lemon and bready flavors. Medium bodied with a crisp and carbonated mouthfeel, finishes clean and dry, this one really hits the spot on a hot day
