Relatively mild in the aroma and flavor departrments, whats there is pretty nice, herbal hops, and fruity malt. Very crisp light body, dry finish. Nice. Cletus (5056), Connecticut, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jun 13, 2005 Pours straw yellow with an average white bubbly head. Smell is of grass and lemons. Taste is watery with hints of grass and no real aftertaste or mouthfeel. The bottle I poured from lists the ingredients of this one as water, barley malts, hops and yeast yet all I can taste is the water. Far below average compared to its other Koln brewed cousins. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 11, 2005 I don’t think my <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/goose-island-sum kölsch really counts, so here’s one from Cologne. Golden yellow with tiny particulate-haze and a large but lightning-fast, white head. Dry, fruity nose was lightly spiced and held aromas of pear and grain. Tasty, sweet-malt start with a touch of herbal bitterness and finishing like a sweet pastry. Creamy with long-lasting aftertastes.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 10, 2005 Bottle: Golden straw yellow with a small white head that lasts for a bit. Aroma initially smelled quite skunked and sweaty, but after I poured it into a glass this changed dramatically. Smells malty - honey covered grains - light malts, faint hint of yeast, and a light smoke or wood (I’m surprised to be smelling this too). Light bodied, crisp, moderately dry, slightly watery towards the finish. Taste is honey coated malt, grains, bread, mildly tart yeast, light fruity yeast, earthy malt, and a hint of spicy old hops. The only strike against it comes from a plastic flavor that comes through late in the finish. tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 23, 2005 A decent beer, but nothing remarkable. Had it after a very busy and horrible day. Tastes similar to other Kolschs. Very pale yellow. Awesome looking glass that I had to have. madsberg (5044), Søborg, Denmark
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 17, 2005 Bottled: Golden coloured. Clear. White dense head. Aroma is grainy and light malty. Flavour of light hops and some light malt. Is a bit watery and thin, which ends to a very light bitter end. thegreenrooster (1841), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 8, 2005 Pour is a hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroms is kind of soapy and sticky. Flavor is a very weak hop and malt extract. A good session beer is all this is. Nothing here to write home from Cologne about. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
