faroeviking (4589), Faroese Autonomous Beer Republic, Denmark Aug 14, 2008 Botella. Clear golden with a big nice creamy pure white well lasting head leaving a good lacing. Aroma of corn with bitter tones. Good mouthfeel. The flavour has a pleasant maltiness with corn and a tickeling bitterness. Dry malty mildly bitter finish.
blutt59 (953), Dallas, Texas, USA Nov 28, 2008 bottle, color of gold straw with a nice foamy two inch head that leaves spotty lace, flavor is sweet, bay leaf with a clean dry bitter finish kassner (217), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 1, 2008 I have had this on tap in Koeln, but this was a bottle. Great Koelsch, with fruits and grapefruit and that drying finish. Carbonation just right. My favorite on tap but pretty good fro m the bottle also. heavy (536), Split, Croatia Oct 30, 2008 0.5 l bottle courtesy of Doggythedog, thanks for sharing! It poured golden body with medium-smaller head. Nothing special in aroma, some undefined industrial hops. Bitter flavor, also somewhat sugar sweet with quite thin body. Bitterish, short and unimpressive finish. I had only one beer of the style before and that was much better, this is just a bit different than fine pale lagers. Not too fruity and without any estery characters, it is not so typical for the style. Doggythedog (1076), Split, Croatia Oct 29, 2008 0.5l can brought from Germany by a friend (thanks Alen!), shared with heavy.<br /> Poured a golden body with a relatively big fluffy white head that went away at a medium pace. Quite dusty hoppy nose. Sweet candyish-fruity but a little soapy maltiness with some light dusty hoppiness. One can hardly tell it apart from a (relatively good) pale lager. A very simple Kölsch. hophead75 (1732), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Oct 24, 2008 bottle. Light golden, clear with a medium head that recedes. Aroma is grainy with light notes of fruit and bread. Taste is somewhat grainy and dry with light touches of fruity esters, slightly metallic, with a light hop bittering finish. Might have been a bit better fresher.
