Commercial Description:
Gage Road Pils is craft brewed to be a superior midstrength lager. Pure malt and noble hops combine to give Pils its complex and refreshing Australian character.
Gage Roads PILS is the first pilsner style midstrength in Australia. It's only 3.5% alcohol by volume but displays all the distinctive qualities of a full strength European pilsner. Crisp and effervescent with a dry, refreshing finish, it's a midstrength you'll actually enjoy drinking.

A mid strenght Pils. Fantastic! Has a perfect balance, and drinks very well, the fact that its only 3.5% means I can over indulge in it as I tend to do with great drops.

Pretty average appearance, poor lacing and a bit dullish if you know what I mean. Was surprised to see this one at 3.5% after drinking half the bottle, some sweet grainy caramel hides the lack of body I guess. Aroma is very much saaz dominated, very grassy and floral... with a light backing of that malty sweetness. Flavours are along the same line, generously hopped, citrussy, and has a sweetish cardboard malt finish. Pretty good, extra points for the abv to flavour ratio.

much to my own surprise this beer impressed me. basically an easyswilling pils, quite like the desitkas you get in czech republic. good soft texture, just enough bitterness, czech yeast character, just enough body. very drinkable and not trying to do too much. nobbad.

Bottle -- Lght golden yellow with quite dense white head with not much retention or lacing. Hoppy aroma jumped out at me as soon as I opened the bottle. A lot of carbonation and a fair bit of water in the mouthfeel. Flavour is nicely balanced without that astringent bitterness you sometimes find in pilseners. A good drop but not a great drop.

Gold in colour with a thin, white and rapidly dissipating head. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Malty flavor with moderate bitterness. Crisp dry finish. 330ml brown bottle.
