Gethinbeer (684), Nova Scotia, Canada Aug 17, 2008 Sampler. Hoppy IPA which is the way it should be. Enjoyed this one.
austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA Oct 15, 2007 Enjoyed at the Gahan House in Charlottetown, PEI. Quite hoppy and true to style though less hopped than an American IPA. OKBeer (1106), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Sep 7, 2007 Sample from tap at the Halifax Seaport Beerfest. Amber colour with a fully diminishing fizzy off-white head. Caramel, bread and fruity aroma and flavour profile. Medium bodied, smooth. More of a standard English pale ale to me than an IPA. Tasty enough but not quite up to snuff as an IPA. Unless of course your point of comparison is Keith’s, but let’s not go there. JRHBrew (179), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada Jul 23, 2007 Excellent offering at the brewpub. The aroma was wildly hoppy, so much so I was unable to distinguish the varieties, but that was nice. There are too many problems with this beer to write about, but overall it is nice and one of the few IPAs available near my hometown. muzzlehatch (4429), Burlington, USA Jun 10, 2007 Draught sample at the brewpub, May 2007. This had just been put on when I visited; I expect it will have a "real" name eventually like the other beers but the bartender just called it the IPA. Anyway, it pours a dark amber-copper with a decent touch of head and a trace of lacing...nose is unfortunately mostly diacetyl, with faint hints of minerallic-tinged leafy pungent hops struggling to find a part....very mild, buttery, Englishy hop character, more malty and syrupy than required, certainly....barely drinkable alas.
