With a very strong pour this fizzed out like crazy, the big head with big bubbles were reduced to nothing in a mater of seconds. The beer is golden and clear, pretty crappy looking all together. The aroma is grainy with light fruity notes, but nothing special. The flavor is lightly tart, slightly minarally and generally pretty fruity, this doesn’t taste too bad, I wish it had more going on the way of body. Dammit! i was hoping for something special from Galena... The tri states disappoint again.

A light hefe. Pours golden with a nice white head. Aroma of bananas, lemon, yeast, and wheat. Flavor is wheat with bananas at the end. I enjoyed this!

Pours milky pale gold with a 2 finger fuzzy white head that has decent retention. Aroma is wheat, yeasty bread dough, banana, clove and a little lemon. Flavor is lemon, wheat, sourdough, sweet malt, grass, herbal notes and some mineral toward the end. Palate is medium body, dry and somewhat chalky. Above average American take on a German Hefe, lacks much of the yeasty/fruity roundness of a good one.

It’s now in pretty much every restaurant in historic Galena. It’s a decent hefe. Pretty standard, a little light on flavor (but a bit of banana yeast) but OK for a hot summer afternoon.
