Um...I'm sorry but this just about sucked. Poured liked water, and way too watery on the palate. Little to no nose (hints of dried fruit, but very weak). Overall, very dissappointing. I know I'm not much of a barleywine connoisseur, but I usually can tell when I'm having a good one (or in this case, a really poor one).

Bottle. It's a good thing that I don't care for barley wines because I would be greatly disappointed in this one. It poured a large sized white head with fine-small sized bubbles that quickly dissipated. The body was hazy and carbonated with a yellow-orange hue. The nose was sweet, fruity, and wine. The flavor was sweet, acidic, sour, tart and somewhat fizzy. The mouthfeel was fizzy as well and somewhat watery and thin. This was a light-medium bodied beer with no lacing on the sides of my glass.

I like the name of this one. George Gale Conquest Ale. Has a nice ring to it. Anyway, it poured a large head of mostly diminishing fine to medium sized clear colored bubbles that left behind a minimal lace. The body was a very hazy semi-opaque light orange brown color with floating yeast particles. The aroma is floral fruity yeasty one with very mild vinuous notes. The mouth feel was very tingly from start to finish with a lingering vinuousness to it. The flavor was fruity and vinuous with acidic and metallic notes. This is definitely a brew that needs conquering!

No, I do like barley wine. But didn't like this. Hazy amber body with minimal head. Citrus to the nose. Very sour. Very unpleasant.

Brown with a thin almost non existant white head. Sweet and suggary in the nose. Suggary waterd down taste. Alsmost like sherry. Overall not very drinkable but the nose is quite pleasant.

Totally flat pour with small bubbles on side of glass. Sour fruit taste but really nothing else. Mellow oak flavor. I have to assume I drank this way too soon or too late. I still like their bottling, with wax and cork.
