Mar 2, 2004 Almost brown color with no head. Dried fruits and malt dominate the flavor, like a malty fruitcake. Somewhat chocolate dryness that was also sweet. Rich and complex.

Feb 28, 2004 2002 Deep bloudy burgundy color with out any sign of a head. The aroma consists of spoiled apples and bananas, and a sugar and alcohol syrup; quite sweet. Thick and uncarbonated mouthfeel, initially sweet with a bouquet of fruit and flowers, turning to a nutty and woody finish with considerable bittering hops. An interesting experience, with a very smoky lingering finish.

Feb 26, 2004 Pale clouded reddish amber appearance, no head formation. Strong fruity, woody, sherry aroma. Sweet syruoy, fruity flavor, very sherryish with noticeable woodiness. Slight unmatured green apple bite in the finish, but remains unmistakeably sweet throughout.

Feb 23, 2004 Flat, clear orangey-red-copper colour. Looks like except for the no head thing.
Really salty Marmite aroma which isn't particularly pleasant. Vague dried apricots and yoghurt aroma in the background.
Thick, viscous body but pretty lean. Not sweet, but salty, acidic, alcoholic and slightly bitter. Leafy hop flavour with a spiritous, nutty character.
Took me over 3 hours to drink it but by the end it had grown on me - I had considered tossing it pretty early on.

Feb 22, 2004 [Bottled] The aroma is a lot like portwine, sweet with notes of wood, prunes, and plums. The color is reddish and it has no head, even though it gave a high fizz when the cork was lifted. The flavor is also very sweet with a wood background and earth, prunes, and plums notes combined with alcohol. The flavors last for a very long time. The flavor also reminds me a lot of portwine.

Feb 21, 2004 9.3 oz. Bottle. Poured with no headand very little carbonation. Smelled like malt, prunes and alcohol. Tasted like sweet burnt prunes with a strong alcohol finish. I didn't like this beer very much.

Feb 13, 2004 Strong fermented fruit and alcohol comes barging right in. Really sticky and chewy in the mouth, felt like a meal. Alcohol warmed me right up.

Jan 27, 2004 2002 Batch. Rough nose, a bit of roast and lots of fruit sides. Light brown fadding to lighter on the sides. light carmel and an explosion of fruit. plums, figs, light fruity hops, way fruity and sweet. A bit tart for the finish which really rounds it out nicely.
