275 ml. bottle. Alcohol fermantation, wooden cork, fruit and an alcohol wipe aromas. Murky brown body with no head. Flavor is a fruity sour alcohol blend that at sometimes the alcohol was strong and then the fruit was dominate. Complex beer to say the least.

Pours dirty brown w/ shallow froth. Aroma is very rustic w/ a tart medcinal essence. Medium nectar w/ flat line effers. Flavors are old world. Slightly tart, medicinal, earthy, lifeless. alcohol is impercepibe. It’s like leathered water. It’s got to be over the hill. This is 2006. It’s already six years old. Overall: I am judging this bottle as it drinks now. It may have been better during the previous years. I was really looking forward to it though.

This was given to be by TChrome as a joke--he doesn’t like English beer because he can’t understand why anyone would drink beer that lets the malt outshine the hops--but the joke’s on him because this was a tasty bottle. Great aroma, lambic like with cherry driving it. The flavor shows some characteristically English malt, but it has a great sour/acidic quality that brings the fruitiness home. It was flat, to be sure--can’t expect anything but with these older English strong ales--but there was enough going on to keep it interesting. The color ranged along the spectrum from orange to amber to red. Thanks TChrome--Kevin and I enjoyed it!

nuffield gives me a place to sleep that has AC, feeds me, and shares good beer with me. i hope no one ever tells him what a piece of crap i am. thanks for everything patrick. tan color with a couple of bubbles for a head. amazing complex aroma of cherry, lactic, vanilla, plastic, amazing. taste is fruity, vinous, strawberry, liht chocolate. slight sour, would be better with some carbonation, but still, this is good. the slightly acidic nature of this is great. i’m in your debt patrick.

Bottle. Cork opened correctly but the carbonation was almost completely gone (I could have count the bubbles). Clear amber color, pours like syrup. The aroma was almost repelling, apple vinegar and cork, reminded me of a lambic but not in a favorable way. The flavor was extremely acid, cantillon-like, with no residual sugar and no hops to complement it. After the first sip my stomach was ready to capitulate. Way too old, has passed its prime by numerous years...

Bottled. Murky brown color with a bit of white lacing. Roast aroma with cigars and brown sugar. Tart, port-like flavor; thin and sour. Slight watermelon note.

Poured a very hazy orange with no head. The aroma was tart with notes of funky horse and leather. I am rating the aroma to my likes, an 8, rather than to style which would put the numbers low. The flavor is pretty tart and mouth puckering. Peppery finish and warming. The body was pretty thin.
