A copperish color but no head what so ever. Wine like aroma and taste. Has a taste almost like a chardonnay.

Reddish color with zero head. Big oaky aroma. No fizz whatsoever which really ended up bothering me. Thick and sweet, yet watery at the same time.

Looks like apple cider. No real smell that I can tell. Very thick and syrupy and reminds me of apple cider.

According to the bottle, this was brewed in 1997 for 2000. I bought it in 2005. I think it’s aged just a wee bit too much. It pours a light brown, cloudy, and full of the gods know what. The drink is thick, but there’s no carbonation or head. The aroma is a piercingly sweet malt with vinegar and alcohol. The watery brew tastes much the same, leaving you with a sticky sweet alcohol burn for a finish.

Bottled when? Drank in June 05. Hard to believe its still around (and there are quite a few at my local beer place). Aroma of (spiced) apples. No head at all. Reminds me of wine, but watery. Not real exciting or good, wonder if it was aged too long. Had it again and it has turned quite sour. Not a good beer.

(Draft, 2000 vintage, Rich O’s) Pours a mahogany body with a small white head. Aroma of raisins and sour fruit. Flavor of grapes and dark fruit.

Big thanks to npdempse for this retired brew. Pours turbid brown with medium tan head. Aroma of dark fruit, malt, some caramel and cabernet, ground black pepper. Tastes very tart, with some cherries and some Thomas Hardy qualities. Dense, sour palate. Complex, yet the tartness doesn’t seem to meld with the other components. Still, this one is very good.

A rare beer brought by Laurent Mousson, 7 years old, in the classic Gale’s corked bottle
Brown color; almost flat. Wood, cask, cork, caramel aroma, too much alcohol. A bit thin; Madeira character, very complex and peculiar, but also too much alcoholic.
