doubelknv3 (559), Illinois, USA Aug 10, 2007 Tasting notes from 2002 Harbury beer festival. Straw-Golden with slight haze. Mild citrus and fruit aroma notes. Hop bitter front with mild sweet malt finish. Dry Hop finish. DJMonarch (5966), Northwich, Cheshire, England Feb 2, 2006 Cask Stillage at the King George’s Hall, Blackburn 06/09/2001
Golden coloured hoppy and slightly fruity. Full hop finish. haddonsman (1234), Derby, Derbyshire, England Jan 10, 2006 Cask (handpulled) at the Bishop Blaize, Derby. Well, we had the hot summer day for it but this beer underdelivered. Pale, undemanding gold, slight malt but not thirst quenching stuff. DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England Jul 30, 2005 Hand pulled at the Corner House, Birmingham. Slight cloud to this golden ale, with a nice, long lasting frothy head. Quite a bit of flavour here I thought, with a distinct and sweetish hoppy flavour. Finish is good and long and this does pack in more than 3.8% of taste. Has the slightly swirly hop juiciness that good UK beers do not manage as often as they should. Liked this. chriso (4665), London, Greater London, England Aug 2, 2004 Another gold lager coloured summer quaffer, much like the Downton Chimera Wheat I had immediately before. This one had a bit more sweet malt and a soft mouthfeel, but still managed to be refreshing. Not much in the way of aroma. Cask (handpump), Crosse Keys (JDW), City of London.
Spiesy (2333), Global Citizen, Greater London, England Aug 2, 2004 Cask Conditioned, at The Crosse Keys, in The City. Light pale colour, white frothy head. Looks for all the world like a larger, frozen in time, motionless. Pleasant bitter flavour with moderate to good length on the palate. imdownthepub (5086), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England May 25, 2004 Cask conitioned at a Wetherspoons. Light golden beer woth thin head. Light dainty thinnish beer with a sweet gentle malt. Gets to be a little crystal bitter in the finish. leaparsons (4659), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Aug 24, 2003 Coudy straw in colour, this beer has a zesty fresh aroma. Flavours are light and fruity and as crisp as an autumn morning. T'aint bad.
