| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 22, 2005 Raisins, hops, caramel, honey and dust in the nose - smells like sweet paper or like a book somehow. Hazy mahogany and a low foamy head. Sugary sweet with a sourish middle - like a fermented fig or something. Wierd blend really. Thick body with a hint of alcohol after the swallow. A little like Thomas Hardy, but not as good. Very dissappointing and not worth it. ChristianSA (368), Copenhagen, Denmark

Murky chestnut brown with bigbubbled head, that quickly disappears. Nose is maybe a bit sour but not bad. Flavor is pretty awful: Sour (but not the nice acidness you might encounter in a oud bruin or a soured porter) - it is more like the acidness you can encounter in homebrew that has been repitched on the yeast cake too many times- Some bubblegum too. Nice bitterness though. Body is almost watery and way out of place for a beer this strength - i suspect excessive amounts of tablesugar has been used. At €6,50 This beer has the worst price/perfomance ratio ever. *Not* recommended!

Malty, fruity, touch of orange marmelade, vegemite, alcohol, bonfire finish. Pleasent mouthfeel. Well balanced and nice. beerledgend (919), Meadowbank Auckland, New Zealand

Pop the cork and the aroma was like a big fruit punch, saltanas. Dark brown in colour, no head. Tasted like a bad port with big saltana tatse.

Looked beautiful, dark brown & had a nice tight head but the taste, whilst not bad, was nothing that great, shame really mullet (798), Melbourne, Australia
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 3, 2004 Still, clear, dark copper colour. Lots of crazy aromas going on - lime cordial, other fruits (pineapple especially), tobacco, leather, soap, scotch and it’s vaguely Lambic-like. Quite thin-bodied, which was a surprise. Very vinous flavour, with nowhere near enough malt. Very fruity, sour, bitter, salty, then sour again. Smells very interesting but it really doesn’t taste that good. I dunno about this one, it’s pretty crazy and funky but what’s the point when it doesn’t taste good? Thanks beer_ledgend!
