Never heard of this beer before I got to Prague, but this was everywhere. In the beer garden, in the bars, in the restaurants etc... I didn’t particularly like the bitter bite that this beer had to it. Certainly drinkable, but would rather have an array of other Czech beers instead of this.

On tap in Plzen. Always a pain in Czech when you show up at a pub/restaurant and all they have on tap is Gambrinus. The frustration seemed familiar but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it until I saw an ad for it on tv in the classic working-man-lads-at-the-BBQ style and realised it was the Czech Toohey’s New.

A completely unremarkable pilsener. It wasn’t good or bad. It was literally one of the most average beers I have ever had in my life.

Enormous head, bit of lace in glass. Agressive carbonation. Some bitterness but otherwise low in taste and in body. Drying finish. Satisfying lawnmower beverage. Passable aroma. Thanks to Jan Biegaman.

A good Pilsener from the Chech Replublic. Not too bitter or too sweet. Bought it on our vacation in the Chech Replublic.

Clear gold with a large bubbly white head. Aroma is mostly saaz, giving some nice floral notes. the mouthful is a bit plain, with a dry feel to it, and some munich toast flavours. It really lacks enough hop flavour for a bohemian pilsener. The finish is clean and watery.

0,5l Bottle: Clear yellow colour, with a white foam. Aroma of yeast, dry hopy nose, with a bit of flower in the end. Flavor is the same, dry hopyness, and thin body, short to medium bitter finish.
