Quite watery and non-descript on first taste, some hops do come through on the palate later and there’s a gentle hint of licorice in the after-taste. Sweeter , cheaper and less remarkable than it’s stable-mate Pilsner Urquell, Gambac is a drinkable brew although on local terms, it’s rather bog-standard.

From tap at Little Prague, pours golden with a medium head, aroma is grainy with vanilla marmalade and some herbs, flavor is grainy with some yeast and herbs, quite bitter and refreshing.

0.5 l bottle from a local cafe bar. It poured golden body with medium sized head that went down pretty fast. Lemony aroma, somewhat grainy and malty. Flavor was quite a disappointment, lemony again, with some honey malts, quite neutral, only very slightly bitter. Short finish, some lemony hos again shows up here. Too few hops for a decent pilsener, and I can’t seem to think desitka it’s much better...although I was a bit too hard on that one.

Found by accident at a pub/cafe bar in Split some of my friends frequent. Overpriced and I really don’t know how they got it but hey, it’s a new rating when there should’ve been none. Poured a nice full golden body with a tiny but fine white head. The nose is quite light, mostly honey but also some herbal hoppy notes (Saaz?). The taste is dominated by a honeyish maltiness, with a bitter hoppy note. Slightly watery and ordinary but definitely ok, very good for what counts as a bulk macro lager.

Sampled in Prague. A traditional czech pils. Pretty clear with no real excitement to this one, but still, its a good brew. Pours clear, big white head.

Quite bready, malty-like aroma with a hint of honey. The flavor is malty as well. Medium bitterness. Man, I like it.

Golden with a lasting white head. Malty aroma with hints of metal and DMS. Sweet bready malt flavour, bordering sugary sweet.
