long live desitkas! to hell with "high alcohol content required" beer snobbery. gambac is an awesome everyday beer with the best chance of no hangover, even when passing the 10 pint mark. ok, one negative aspect acknowledged. it has gotten a little worse then it used to be, as far as i know, prazdroj is not using well water for their gambrinus production any longer, it certainly seems to taste not quite as great as it used to.

i can’t beleive it! This beer is greatly underrated by you. It pours a white creamy head, with nice amber color. Hoppy aroma and a beautiful pils-taste. Such a simple beer can be excellent for me at the end of a weekday.

First rating
Sample at a beer tasting event at "Pannrummet" in Gothenburg, Sweden.
LIght yellow color. Very low scent, malty. Low bitterness and not much taste. VEry easy to drink, still a "clean" pils, but boring. The low score is because of my recent lack of appreciating light lagers, this is well made and a good Czech beer, but just not right for me.

Good everyday beer: pale golden, aromatic, loaded with typical Zatec bitterness, very malty (taking into consideration its strengthness and gravity).

From tap. Golden colour. Medium head. Saaz-hoppy aroma. Mild, slightly malty-sweet taste. Medium bitter finish. Smooth mouthfeel. Very pleasant for a 10%. One of the best I had.

Canned. Clear golden, rich head. Light hay aroma. Sweet and light bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Butterscotch is evident, aromatic hay-like hops less so. Notes of sugar. Low bitterness. Pretty good commercial brew.
