Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 26, 2005 A red-brown beer with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and honey, while the flavor is sweet and sour with notes of lemon, leading to a very dry end. There is just something with the flavor that I don’t like - the sourness the weakness... oh6gdx (5700), Vaasa, Finland Sep 16, 2005 Bottled. Dark amber (copper) coloured, beige bubbly head. Some caramel, malt and hops in aroma. Flavour is caramellish, oakish and a bit roasted. Aftertaste is caramellish, though not very sweet. Beerstyle is something like porter meets dunkel. A bit sticky palate. Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 12, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) The back label claims this is a "Märzen" which must be a complete misunderstanding. This beer is dark brown, close to black with a red, warm glow and a beige head. The flavour is burned, almost like charcoal and very bitter. Reminds me mostly of a Stout. Has a suspicious resemblance to the same brewery’s Christmas beer. 190802 Engelsmann (653), Copenhagen, Denmark Jul 31, 2005 Bottled. Pours a dark redbrown, with a small tan head. Aroma is of caramel, and sweet malts. Taste is sweet malty, with some notes of dark roasted mlts. Pernille (518), Copenhagen, Denmark Jul 25, 2005 Color like opaque cola. Small, disappearing beige head. Quite thin body but strong notes of coffee and liquorice. Not bad.
