Pours a clear dark amber with a wispy white head and thin rings of lace. Aroma is aggressively hoppy with some citrus fruit. Body had some substance for a pale ale. Flavor is hoppy nicely balanced with caramel malt.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 15, 2009 This is a superior house beer offering. BTW, the abv was listed as 5.2%.
Great look: excellent head and lace. If there were a complaint, it would be the utterly muddy appearance (way beyond cloudy). It affects the color, which I’d describe as a milky, amber color.
Hard to get an aroma in a 4oz glass, but I’d describe it as a raw hop--inviting.
Great malty start which gives way to a sharp biting hop flavor, but it isn’t harsh. The body is rich. There’s a mild yeast flavor. Overall, a very nicely balanced APA.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 12, 2009 In short: A hearty caramelized, resinous and citrusy pale ale. Nice brew.
How: Tap at Vermont’s Brewers Festival 2009
The look: Partly cloudy dark golden body topped by a very small off-white head
In long: Typical nose of a resinous caramelized pale ale. Well malted body, enough caramel, citrusy and resinous hops, medium bitterness. Not the light refreshing juice type of Pale Ale, this one is more on the bulky side of things as far as the style is concerned. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 9, 2009 Growler. This is my favorite offering to fill the growler from GAH because it is something that is enjoyed by many. It is on the lighter side but still has some character. Pours a light amber. Good caramel taste with just enough hoppiness. MartinT (5080), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 8, 2009 My Bottom Line:
Oranges, resins and earth seep from this Pale Ale’s hop signature, a fragrance which works efficiently with the plentiful caramel dextrins.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the coppery amber.
-The flavor profile is balanced throughout.
-This could definitely be more aromatic to announce the hop flavors to come.
-Residual sugars are well dried out by the bitter resinous finish.

Well balanced flavors of hop and malt and good body. Clean hop finish. Very nice. hophead75 (1964), Boonton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 26, 2007 sampled on tap at the brewery. amber in color with a moderate level of carbonation. Aroma contains a moderate amount of citrus hops as well as some malt in the background. Taste is also a good dose of american c-hops, with a nice light malt backbone. Medium bodied, pretty well done.
