Commercial Description:
Garrison has done it again, launching it's latest full-flavoured, unfiltered seasonal - Winter Weizenbock! A well rounded dark amber wheat beer with a complex, velvety fruit and spice character. The smooth, rich mouth-feel coupled with aromatic notes of banana and clove fade into a divine, lingering finish. Prosit!

2008-05-01. Hazy dark amber body with a decent white head. (3+) Pleasant yeasty aroma, light caramel touched malt. (7+) Similar yeast in the flavour is a touch more restrained. Light sweetness to it with hints of caramel. (7+) Smooth average plus palate. (3+) Lacks the complexity and oomph to score a lot higher, but I quite liked this and could drink a lot of it I expect. Pours a hazy deep orange colour with a thick dark beige head. Nose is vaguely spicy with strong hints of yeast and some faint fruityness. Flavour is again, fairly yeasty, and a bit fruity. There’s very faint hints of alcohol apparent. Carbonation is pretty much in the middle, and its a bit watery. Has some flavour to it, but it’s perhaps a bit too yeasty, although, that could be due to a really bad pour, haha.

[1527-20080712] 500mL bottle. Spiced grain yeast aroma has a bit of fruit and floral sweetness. Slightly hazy, dark orange amber body with a medium-lasting foamy almond head. Grainy clove spiced yeast flavour is sweet throughout. Medium body. Starting to show its age but nice nonetheless.

500ml bottle. Cloudy copper color with frothy light tan to off-white head which fades away to several little "springs" of bubbles. Spicy smell, bananas and toast with slight alcohol reminds me of my breakfast. Medium mouthfeel, fruity, almost citric taste with a bit of biscuity malt.

Bottle shared with Jerc, Hogtown Harry, GregClow, and Blankboy, courtesy of Jerc. Fiery orange/dark brown, small creamy white head. Mild alcohol and fruit aroma. Good taste - fruity, alcohol - not much else, pretty straightforward. It is good just hard to describe and probably not in the league of their previous exceptional special releases.

Bottle (500ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & tupalev -- courtesy of jerc. Pours a cloudy orange-amber with a large tan head. Aroma of lightly sour fruit, caramel malt, spices (mainly cloves) and light hops. Flavour is yeasty along with caramel malt, citrus, cloves and a touch of hops. Medium bodied. I didn’t love it as much as the other guys but I still found it pretty good.
