willblake (1932), Long Branch, New Jersey, USA Apr 26, 2008 20061209 Tap at brewery. Pale brown. Thin, flat, briney. Mildy roasty and round with some vanilla and nougat. Fair enough. yobdoog (367), Woodridge, New York, USA Jan 16, 2008 Very easy drinking. Aroma of earthy chocoalte and caramel malts. Taste is very light, mild, not too much going on. No coffee, no chocoalte, a bit watery. Aroma is dark fruit, medium malt, sweet, yeast. Taste is vanilla, dark malt-chocolate. Nitro=minimum carbonation. Occasional. Better before food. 3.0 (with food 2.6) Dickinsonbeer (2514), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jan 17, 2006 This is really a mild ale, not a stout, and 3.4% for this years version. Pours a dark amber/light brown with a thin beige head. Aroma is caramel, chcolate malt and some toasted malts. Light hoppy presence all the way through. Stale malty flavor, a bit oxidized, light cardboard, but not too bad. Pretty easy drinking overall.
