A brown beer with a small head. Sourish-lactic aroma in combination with some dark fruits. Very refreshing taste, some extreme mild tartness, dark fruits and caramel. Hard to believe this beer is 12% vol.alc.

A hazy red/bruin colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma of caramel, with dark fruits like prune. Some hop flavors. The taste is fruity like raisins with dates, a little sour, hoppy, some alcohol in the back. The aftertaste is warm with some bitter.

Bottle at the Diamond: Pours a hazy ruby/amber with a nice light tan head (considering the high ABV) Spicy nose- lots of yeasty character, some leathery earthy brett comes through and a mild cranberry touch, as well as some peppery ethanol. A bit of alcohol is detectable on the palate. Has a solid brett presence in the fore flavor. Sharp funky leather and lemon-pit with subtle darker fruit qualities from underlying malt when it warms. The alcohol becomes a apparent with a peppery character and a brief flowery note later on, and a late honeyish twinge. Not bad; more subtly would surface if it had a lower ABV.

Labeled as "Extra," which is the American label. Pours thick dark brown with a short but long lasting head. Aroma is sweet prune with a hint of tropical fruit and alcoholic raisin. Taste is slightly alcoholic and slick black raisin bread. Goes down wel enough but a feeling of alcoholic heft is left behind with a sweet, dark fruits, aftertaste.

33 cl. bottle. The stateside importer Twelvepercent Imports, LLC, is handling a beer with the name "’t Gaverhopke Extra." They designate it as a quad, so I’m guessing this is the same beer. Poured a murky orangey brown with a frothy beige head leaving spotty lacing. Yeasty streudel aroma with vinous and sour berries, green apple, dark honey, and toasted nuts. Sweet toffee flavor cut through by a tart berry and plummy fruit note. Also suggestive of underripe oranges. Toasty alcohol, peppery spice, and a leathery and woody dryness marks the finish. Delicate carbonation. Pretty nice overall balance between the tartness, fruitiness, spiciness and toffee sweetness.
