The aroma is light but has notes of malt, caramel, honey and citrus. The flavour has a slight tartness to it and has yeast, citrus, malt, caramel and a little woodiness. Medium body, with high carbonation, and a long bitter finish. Very nice. TheGrandMaster (1877), Auckland, New Zealand
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Nov 6, 2009 Botte (in NZ). A very lively pour - a hazy but bright orange-amber with a massive foamy head. A subdued nose, a little spicy alcohol and hint of nut. Generous mouthfeel, with plenty of alcohol bite on the palate. Again the flavours are quite subtle - only notes of caramel and hop fruit, but plenty of yeasty spice. Not quite to the same standard as the 3 Monts. MikeKeller (66), Finland

Gorgeous deep rose gold, just off-brilliat, with a huge cream airy head. Pretty clean... Caramel and subtle stewed fruits, with a surprisingly warm alcohol note. Tidier in the mouth, where it seems like a bock fermented with a subtle ale yeast... slips down way too easily. Pretty nice but I can’ figure out if it’s a bus stop beer for those classy French or a beer worthy of its literary association... I like anyway, as confusing as it is. jaghana (109), Strasbourg, France

Very pleasent beer with an amaising yeast flavour and very malty. The taste is near to some black beers. Nice Belgian style ale. Thylacine (271), Tasmania, Australia
