Commercial Description:
Bottle; Unfiltered.
Gavroche was a generous and rebellious Paris urchin and a character in the Victor Hugo (1802-1885) novel “Les Misérables.” It is also a strong, amber beer, where the flavour of its top-fermentation yeast combines perfectly with the taste of the special malts. Fermented again in the bottle, the Gavroche beer should be served with care between 10 and 12°C.

My bottle had aged approximately 12 months. This is s fine sweet aroma floral scented brew. Strawberry aroma with a delicate hint of cherries and vanilla. The berr has a densely bronze cloudy hue with a heavy bubble tannin float. The float is quick to dissapate with moderate lacing. The flavor have a minor suble sweet kriek flavor with a profound bubbly champagne finish. There is also a hint of plums hidden. An excellent full-bodied full-spirited and robustly flavored carbonated brew in the French champagne flavor. Very Good.

Clear reddish pour with large frothy off white head. Musty, rather unpleasant aroma. Metallic, milky aroma. Funk, must, Kind of sweet, hard to describe. Some booze, kind of astringent. Very hard to describe. Earthy.

Medium Gold Coloring wtih White Head. Dark Malt...Chocolaty with a Belgian Yeast Aroma. Belgian Yeast, Dark Malts..Syrapy Caramel and Chocolate.. Light Spices. An Overall Note of Cardboard. Dry Yeasty and Spicy Ending. Perhaps Requiring Aging Before More Palatable...Currently I Find it a Bit Challenging to Have a Good Understanding With.

A highly surprising beer -- a nice dark-ish Biere de Garde. Well balanced. Reminiscent of a nice belgian single.

330ml bottle from BeersOfEurope. Fine mouse carbonation, like a Belgian beer - insistent and tingly and irritating. Needs conditioning and settling before it gets to a level I find palatable. Quite sweet with some chocolate notes from dark malts - possibly crystal and chocolate. Yeasty, alcohol aroma and taste. Nothing hangs together well. - there’s stale flavours which I tend to pick up from crystal malt. Cardboard notes - even though this is live and 7 months within best before date. Vague warm, bitter spices without definition - slightly dry. Gets better, and has some interest, but on the whole I haven’t enjoyed this very much.

330 mL bottle from Montreal (Joanette).
App.: cloudy bright orange-copper with a substantial orange-tan head. Aroma: lovely, spicey molasses, caramel and dried fruits, smells sweet and rich, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and clove, fruity esters, and a bit of yeast. Liquid spice cake. Palate: medium-full body, effervescent carbonation. Flav.: sweet and malty, spicy, very much like the nose. A Scotch-like smokey background and throw in a bit of licorice as well. Coats the mouth slightly with a mildly alcoholic finish.
I firmly believe that most countries do either beer or wine well, and seldom both. This was an unexpected pleasure. Bravo!

Bottle. Poured clear copper with a large frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate tart citrus spice aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft caebonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. I would recommend this to a freind.

Bottle. Beautiful, totally cloudy auburn pour yields a firm, sticky head. Aroma is slightly tart at first pour, though quickly transforms into a spicy autumn type brew... cinnamon, green apple pie, roasty malts, nutmeg, plump plums. Very nice. Flavor is dissappointing, considering the great aroma... malty, and very harsh, overwhelming minerals and a chunky, bad almond kind of aftertaste.
