Sweet toasty malt, some peppery notes and a pronounced dusty character as well. Sweet, slightly fruity (apple/peach) and a distinctly earthy, UK-type of maltiness. Flavour is also quite fruity, soft but persistent earthy/herbal bitterness. Okay beer, but not great. JK (2961), Richfield, Minnesota, USA

It lacks any weirdness that is present in some beers of this style, and instead has a straightforward flavor of sweet malt and very light spices. Cloudy and light red, but no visible sediment. Also a very large cream colored head, and this sticks around until the end of the beer. Dorwart (1826), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA

Excellent carbonation keeps a thick head on this brew. Fruity, spicy, grapes and malts. Color is a medium orange copper. Light and fizzy in the mouth. Light malts for balance, with more spices and a hint of fruit. Good alcohol presence and warming. Little dry and tart but only minimal. Clean and dry finish. Little bitterness/tartness which makes the mouth pucker. Quite a good brew. Can’t really find anything wrong with this one. I really like this and am surprised that it is not a little higher. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 18, 2006 Adherent and bulky head, a lot foamy and of good persistence. Dark maroon and fraught color; medium and light fizz. Alcoholic, winy and much flowery scent; sweet notes of malt, flowers, wine cellar, caramel and must. Medium fizzy taste, much round and dense at mouth. Structured and alcoholic body but altogether balanced and sweet. beerbill (1973), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 13, 2006 11.2 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a massive bubbly head. A bit excessive with the effervescence in my opinion. Light yeasty aroma. Flavor is also a bit yeasty. Also a touch of malt sweetness. Little, if any influence from the hops. I didn’t dislike this beer, but I wasn’t crazy about it either. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 12, 2006 Nice orangey appearance, nice medium bubbly head. Aroma is fresh, spicey and yeasty lees. Flavour is quite citric and malty with a bubbly palate. A nice beer but just does nothing to stand out. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 11, 2006 Huge., big-bubbled head - very foamy indeed. Fresh, yeasty nose with hints of spices, citrus (especially oranges) and seems slighlty cellared. The flavor is pleasant and refreshing. LIghtly hopped. Very bright. The excess carbonation takes away some of my enjoyment. Thin - the flavor just kind of fizzles out and leaves me wanting more. True to its style, but it just doens’t add up to the farmhouse ales by Southampton, for example. Oakes (8114), Kowloon, Hong Kong
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 11, 2006 Hazy amber colour. Yeasty aroma with firm malts, light spiciness. Hazy yeastiness, light maltiness. Not bad, but rather nondescript and overly yeasty.
