Tallahassee, Fl. - Market Square Liquors - 750 ml cork-caged bottle. Dark golden, slightly cloudy pour with a soft, pillowy white head that sticks around. The full glass just says - "refreshment". Fresh aroma with hints of clove, butter and vanilla. Full bodied flavor with some caramel sweetness, some raw cake mix, pears and butterscotch and a back end of vanilla. Thick, rich, creamy mouthfeel. Very impressed with this one - very underrated in my opinion. Really hit the spot on a hot day.

Biere de Garde? More like a rich, French Pilsener. Very soft cabonation, which is thin but retentive. Has a certain sharpness like cheddar cheese. A unique beer. Reminds me of a French cousin to Germany’s Mahr’s Pilsener. Not spicy. Just a very smooth, grassy blend of Saison and Pilsener qualities.

Monoprix, Cannes. Golden with a decent white head. Aroma is sweet with some fruit and spice evident too. Hoppy flavour with some malt and yeast thrown in. Bitterish finish. Not bad.

Yellow orange pour, nice white head with a touch of lacing. Hop forward nose, grassy with a hint of vanilla. Flavor is grainy and dry with grassy hop notes. Body is soft with mild carbonation. Kind of bitter and dry on the finish.

330 ml bottle. Deep golden color, white head that recedes quickly. The aroma is sweet malts, earthy tones and fallen leaves. The taste is fairly sweet with some fruity notes. The finish is slightly dry and chalky.

Pours bright golden with some fluffy white bubbles on top. Big grassy German hop aroma with some caramel malt. Flavor follows suit, very straight forward. Sweet caramel malt and bitter aromatic German hops. Quite glassy and grassy with a bitter dry finish. Average body/palate, bigger carb bubbles.

Simple and refreshing blonde on a warm day, and it would come into its own next to a roasted bird. Thanks, Matt. The 75 cL pours a bright, dark gold with thin, lacy and quickly receding head. Nose is grainy, malty and lightly sweet, with faint notes of honey and yellow apple I think. Tastes lightly sweet, grainy, moderately bitter, dry. Touch of alcohol shows through. Soft but pinprick carbonation. Solid and bready blonde.

Bottle. Pours clear, deep golden with a medium head. Spicy aroma with vegetable notes. Flavours are spicily bitter, but also with some sweetness. Herbs. Not extremely interesting, but not bad either. But please do not call it a bière de garde.
