Deep yellow, frothy head which dissipates. Sweet and lightly spicy aroma, corriander maybe. A tad fizzy on the tongue, but otherwise pleasant sweet light malty palate. Light grainy taste, wheaty even, and a very crisp bitter finisb. Slightly alcoholic, but not imposingly so. Bart (1648), Brussels, Belgium

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 6, 2007 Rich, but clear, golden body is crowned by a creamy white head that slowly descends into a skim of whipped cream.
Honeysuckle and a solid pilsener malt base make up much of the olfactory experience. Hefeweizen like elements of clove and banana appear in moderation. Further spicing continues along the way of cracked black pepper. Dried hay and fresh linen round out the soft but pleasant aroma.
The flavour is sweet with breads, bananas and marshmallow cream, picking up some spicy acidity towards the finish. Lingering are notes of water crackers and pepper.
Not much more than medium bodied, but with a supple texture, sliding from slick to creamy. The carbonation could stand to be a little firmer, but works.
Fresh and clean overall. Seeming underpowered and reserved keeps it from scoring higher. 75cl bottle, Duvel tulip, bbe 28-12-08. Miksu (2220), Jyväskylä, Finland

Sweetish, mainly malty aroma with vanilla, toffee, clove, pepper and restrained fruitiness. Sweet, malty and spicy flavor, a bit cloying due to very low bitterness. Some alcohol, some clove and pepper as well as some estery fruitiness. kp (8396), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

Looks like one too, some darker gold and thicker head maybe. The taste of alcohol doesn’t do justice to the herby palate, but this still doesn’t live up the the magnificient Gavroche.
