Heady peardrop fruitiness and a pinch of coriander in the nose once it warms up a bit. Uncompromisingly bitter, boozy and full-on overripe fruity, with a steadying undercurrent of mellow, wheaty spice. Not bad at all. joergen (8627), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 10, 2007 Nice amber, OK head and good lacing. The aroma has notes of spice (coriander). The flavour has notes of citrus, spice, malt and hops, and I like the balance in the beers from this brewery. They are uncomplicated and full-bodied in a nice and very drinkable way. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 23, 2006 Bought a bottle of this from a supermarket in Montmartre, Paris. Surprised to find this was the only beer available over 3.5% out of about thirty - very strange. Back at our hostel I had to settle for a clear plastic cup and with no fridge available, into the cup it went. Bright, pale, yellowy gold, well charged with a decent, rocky white head forming, holding and lacing well. Licks of sweet honey, wholemeal and barnyard grains on the nose with just a little pepper and sour malt. Grainy, gritty and malty in the mouth. Floral rasp across the sides, sweetness of honey in front, good depth of peppery spice and peaking alcohol in back. Finish is spicy, phenolic and warming. Quite nice I thought, though stretched for options in Paris. Ended the night well at least. (75cL, no use by, my notes read ’goedale’ so I’m glad I finally located it!)
