When I got it in Paris I had little idea abourt what a biere de garde was, but I’m gonna like this style. Reddish colour, small head. Mild, smooth flavour resembling a Belgian, but with strong fruity end. Enjoyable

This corked and caged bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent softly carbonated light orange colored body. The mild aroma was malty. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt hops sweet and candy. An OK brew just nothing special.

Nice dark golden color with thick white head. Aroma of malts, yeast, fruits. Taste is sweet with some hoppy and spicy character. Medium bitter. You can feel some metallic sense at the finish. A lot of carbonation, too. Not bad at all.

Pours clear dark golden color with white head. Bready maly aroma with some hops and yeast. Fruity, yeasty flavor that is moderately sweet. Medium body with average carbonation. Pretty boring.

Flat nose like wet paper. Golden color is the best part of the beer. Aroma of grapefruitbitters in smell taste and very harsh bitter aftertaste. Not a pleasant beer at all.

Pours a hazy dark golden yellow color with a two finger frothy, pillowy white head and a ton of visible carbonation bubbling up in the glass. The head has excellent retention leaving soapy chunks of lacing throughout the glass. Slightly skunky earthy aroma with a decent malt backbone and hints of wheat, grass, straw, pilsner malt, saaz hops and light fruit. Soft, tight carbonation with a slightly creamy body that thins out considerably throughout toward the finish. Ripe banana flavor with wheat, crsip light fruit, grass, straw, pilsner malt, saaz hops, alcohol astringency, apple and pear notes. A little funky with decent drinkability.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Aroma of hay, bread and yeast. Fruity, soft beer, a bit short, perhaps, but there is a nice complex beer behind the blond seduciveness.

Bottle, c&c, from Ledger’s. Pours golden amber with a large frothy white head. Aromas of light stone fruit and yeast. Medium body with frothy, biting carbonation. Flavor is lighter fruit, a touch of malt sweetness, with some astringency. There is some earthiness, but it is very well covered. So it’s more ale than biere de garde. Leaving that issue it’s a very tasty and drinkable beer. It’s far from sweet, and the bitter is not strong. It’s just pleasant.
