Bottle. Clear light golden, big cotton-like head. Grass, herbs and vanilla in aroma, notes of bread and lime. Flavour of herbs, honey, grass bready pale malts. Light and slippery mouthfeel. Short herbal finish.

Thanks to 1FastSTi for sharing this one. Sweet aroma with bits of caramel malt and a slight green celery combined with brown sugar. Golden yellow in color with a nice white head and lacing. Light, sweet and malty flavor with a spicy or peppery finish. Light body, nice and dry even though its sweet.

Astringent, vanilla-esque aroma. Milky, metallic flavor. Thin, not terribly bitter body. Didn’t have much to say about this one. Not real memorable.

Thanks to Secret Santa, I think? The beer pours to a golden body with a lasting creamy white head. Nice lacing. The aroma is lightly basementy that is imersed in grassy hops. Light. The flavor is delicate. Nice sweet malts and interesting yeasts. Grassy hops and it’s very balanced. The palate is smooth and silken. Medium bodied. Nov. 28th, 2005 bottle.

2005 bottle. Clear golden body. Dry pale malt aroma with light noble hops and dried lemon rind. Sweeter flavor - honey and pale malt along wiht peppery yeast. Peach and dry malt in the finish. This was an enjoyable beer; clean, fruity taste with a nice bier de garde mineral finish.

Sampled this from a bottle at a beer tasting event at The Rover in Gothenburg January 14, 2006. Golden color, very acid scent and flavor, refreshing and quite nice. Could think that it would suit well in the picnic basket a warm summer evening.

Ah, Goudale. The definition of the bad Biere de Garde. This pours a highly carbonated yellow into a giant chemical head. The head settles and you sample the nose and are slightly offended by the salty French "special malts" that catch your nose and you think you are tasting a mixture of salty Nord-Pas de Calais factory fumes, a cow field, and that patiserie next to that Turk restaurant in Maubeuge that nevertheless tempted you with doughy delights each time you passed under its crusty facade. That is to say that this beer isn’t all that bad --like Nord-Pas de Calais is bearable with a cute girl on the coast in July-- but it is still bad. The alcohol is annoyingly prevalent for no apparent reason, as it supplements what is basically all grains and a complete absence of balance in the hops. The defines "super-fermented" malt-liquor that is norther French beer.

Pours golden with a small white head. The aroma is bread, cloves and corriander. The flavor is honey, grass, spice and a touch of lemon. The mouthfeel is quite nice, very smooth.
