SilkTork (3941), Rochester, Kent, England Aug 10, 2004 Bottle conditioned. Ah! Wonderful. This is real beer. Beer intended to be drunk and enjoyed. There is no attempt to be fancy here - this is beer for beer drinkers. And it’s absolutely gorgeous. Drink this and your mouth will love you for ever. This has one of the best mouthfeels of all the beers I have drunk. Fresh, light, gentle, yet creamy, seductive and tingly and exciting and refreshing and satisfying. Wow! This just says Drink Me - I’ll be anything you want! I’ve popped the cork and been drinking and topping up. I just wanted a little night cap before going to bed. I was intending to have a glass (maybe two) and leave the rest for tomorrow when I can compare it with another Biere de Garde. But it just keeps - o look at it there in the glass - so naughty, so lacy and feminine and inviting - it just keeps making me drink more and more. I love this beer. Little fruit whirls going off like fireworks. And I feel so close to the natural ingredients. So close to a fresh real beer. I love this! I love it! Beer of the fucking month! Wow!
JonnyDr (112), , South Yorkshire, England Oct 9, 2008 Pale amber beer. Light, fruity aroma with small white head. Nice light carbonation. Spicy and fruity with slightly metallic finish. OK. Kinz (1916), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Oct 4, 2008 Light orange in appearance, decent head. Aroma was bready, yeasty, and faintly floral. Flavor was essentially a match initially. As it warmed, a faintly phenolic note came out, just a touch of rubber over top of clove. Sort of like a Belgian ale meets a very meek hefe. Not bad, but sort of forgettable in some ways. jefcon (850), Arlington, Virginia, USA Sep 27, 2008 Lively head and an opaque orange-gold color. Some large-bead lacing. Aromas of peach and paper, developing a yeasty must. Semi-sweet and juicy tart fruit -- apricot, peach and lemon, made bright by alcohol. Medium weight. Plenty of carbonation and character. cab (759), Denmark Sep 27, 2008 Bottle. Old rating. Golden clear colour with thinnish white head. head that left nice lacing on the glass. Well balanced between malt, hop and yeast aromas. Cornfield (4342), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Sep 25, 2008 Bottle: This poured a clear bronze body with a substantial head and plenty of lacing. The aroma was sweet pale malt, orchard fruit, and a light floral bouquet. This is not a very complex drink, tasting much as it smelled, but it was somehow satisfying. Throughout the higher ABV was well hidden.
