But I digress... I was expecting this to be much like Strongbow, but for $3 and nearly 7%, I thought I’d give it a try. I ended up being pleasantly surprised. It pours with very little carbonation and some ephemeral bubbles for a head, but, well...it’s draft cider. The aroma wasn’t much when refrigerator temp. -- mostly a very faint, apple juice aroma -- it improved and gained complexity as it warmed, showing a much more definted apple aroma along with a slight cider vinegar smell. The flavor is predictable and slightly boring but tasty. Rather sweet, reminiscent of a light mead. What I most like about this cider -- and most others that I’ve had -- is the dryness, tartness, astringency. Although somewhat watery, flat, and cardboardy, the apple flavor lingers long and alcohol and acids dry the mouth but do not burn. A good drink, and something that I’ll buy again to take a break from beer. Too bad it just doesn’t stand out like those dozen or so great French ciders I’ve had. Still, miles better than the very watery Strongbow and overly-sweetened Woodchuck. gandalf007 (4), Kittanning, Pennsylvania, USA does not count | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 14, 2005 Picked this up on a whim while visiting my fiancee at her school in Ohio. Aroma is very mild and is of apples. Pours a clear medium yellow with no head but some nice bubbles - champagne like. Taste is apples with a pleasant light alcohol finish. Quite refreshing. Again, reminiscent of champagne. Very clean and crisp mouthfeel. A bit better than the score indicates. birdwax (13), Horsham, Pennsylvania, USA

Despite its alcholic strength, delicious and refreshing apple taste for the summer. The aroma is a nice sour apple and the taste is clean and crisp. very good beer Suttree (2743), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jul 23, 2005 Pours yellow with almost no head. Nose is apple and mildly tart. The flavor is like fermented apple juice. Easy to drink, small apple and slightly creamy aftertaste. Pretty good, but I’m not much for rating cider. Tastes apply (red delicious and some granny smith) with a slight tart aftertaste. Very smooth, but not very full bodied. Not bad. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 11, 2005 Clear yellow color with no head. Smells like hot plastic melted over an apple. Very sweet and tart apple taste, with most of it seeming to be of added sugar rather than the apple’s original flavors. This would be a decent stand-by cider. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA
