Commercial Description:
Hampshire has a huge toasted malt flavor balanced by assertive hoppiness. The finish is long and lingering with the malt and hop notes blending with alcohol warmth. Two row English malts (pale, crystal and chocolate); Cascade, Mt. Hood and East Kent Golding hops.

(Rating #657)

The last beer of the championship evening (vball), this one poured with a weak head and weak lacing. The aroma was light chocolate, caramel, and a touch of spice. The flavor was more caramel sweetness than anything else, no spices like the aroma seemed to hint, and the finish was lightly hopped, leaving a dry earthy note on the tongue. Somewhat boring, at least it as 1.69 vs. the 1.89 per bottle price of the other two Gearys.

Bottle sampled with beerded-one. pours deep copper with little to no head off-white color. Aroma of chcolate malt, citrus hops, and caramel. The flavor is a smooth 7%, caramel, sweet, and slight hoppy bitterness upfront.finishing smooth. Good body, good brew.

Pours a deep ruby red/amber hue with a decent sized head that quickly faded. Aroma is awesome. Sweet malts dominte with dark fruit, toffe, and caramel backing it up. Taste is very much the same with a decent amount of caramel and nuttiness. The beer ends with a pretty sharp bitterness. Overall not to bad.

Dark amber pour with a light brown head. Nose of malt with notes of caramel, toffee and a little cookie. There’s a light aroma of hops, too. The flavor is more sweet than anything else, but not too much so. Dry and lightly bitter at the end. Medium body with adequate carbonation. Thought this was a tasty beer.

Clear orange/copper color with a modest, but stable canvas colored head. Light german stollen aroma, with hints of raisins, candied cherries and sweet dough. But the aroma is very light and one nearly has to search for it. Quite smooth and drinkable. That said, it nearly somewhat boring and drinkable. Mild orange zest mixes with light floor malt and very light milk caramel. An earthy hops quality comes in toward the finish and leads to a dry bitter finish. If I was handed this brew without knowing where it came from I would have easily said England. But that said, not all english ales are very exciting. Thanks DocLock!
