Commercial Description:
Hampshire has a huge toasted malt flavor balanced by assertive hoppiness. The finish is long and lingering with the malt and hop notes blending with alcohol warmth. Two row English malts (pale, crystal and chocolate); Cascade, Mt. Hood and East Kent Golding hops.

Thin off-white head; hazy red-amber beer. Rich biscuity nose, like a soft biscuit cake with brandy; dry hops delivering a background, grapey in character. Very hoppy drink with a touch of bitter chocolate, malts, but also chocolate cake. Quite nice and flavoursome, unfortunately not so the finish, which is harsh and thin - just indefinite and long bitterness, with a quaint touch of mint. Quite burnt MF, medium to full bodied, thinner finish and even adstringent. God, how such a promising beer can be ruined in the end. Still, not bad - just 95% USA and only 5% English, IMO.

Dark orange colored, thin disappearing tan head. Weak creamy and hoppy aroma with herb and grass tones. Harsh in the flavor, notes of hop and grass with a dry bitter end. Foamy mouthful. Pretty uninteresting.

Amber, golden. Quickly disappearing head. This beer is not very interesting. Alcohol is very well hidden. I find slightly artificial and metallic. Otherwise is it accetable.

Bottled: Amber coloured.Clear. Light brown head. Malty, fruity and light hopped aroma. Alcohol present in the flavour. Hops and fruits. Is quite thin bodied and watery. Ends on a dry light hoppy note. Dull.

Pours ruby/brown with a tiny head. This beer reminded me of DFH raison d’etre for some reason. Taste is malty and boozy. Very sweet. The 7% is well received.

Clear cherrywood amber under an average white head that had better places to be than atop this beer. Aroma of malt, biscuits, hay, some toffee and a little hops. Pretty conservative flavor - mostly malt, a touch of caramel, a little citrus and a cameo appearance of hops. Finish was quick, dry and nothing special. Hampshire "Special" is anything but. Just an ordinary beer.

Bottled. Amber coloured. Some maltiness and some hoppiness in the aroma and in the flavour. Rather boring.

poured dark amber, with a quick to diminish head. aroma is os of sweet caramel. The flavor is hoppy, sweeet, and complex. Great beer, especially from a grocery store.
