Commercial Description:
Hampshire has a huge toasted malt flavor balanced by assertive hoppiness. The finish is long and lingering with the malt and hop notes blending with alcohol warmth. Two row English malts (pale, crystal and chocolate); Cascade, Mt. Hood and East Kent Golding hops.

On tap @ Harlow’s. Dark amber pour with small white crown. Fairly quiet nose, but a bit of wet malt present. Taste is amazing with strong balance of sweetness and aggressive hop presence. Dark fruit and spice present. Hides alcohol pretty well, and very drinkable. Nice one, Milford NH.

Very dark and very bitter beer. Has a caramel smell and the horrible aftertaste stays for a while.

2006 12 bottle found in my mother-in-law’s basement. Copper with lasting ring and some lace. Subdued malty brown sugar aroma with tiny alcohol hint. Malty brown sugar sweetness with mild fig fruitiness and mild underlying bitterness. Medium-full body and low carb for nice mouthfeel. Very good.

(from notes) Unremarkable amber color with plain old head. Smells of corn syrup sweetness with some bitterness in the way background. Nothing in the flavor stands out at all... "special" in name only. Could be called "well balanced", but it’s all balanced in the "mediocre-at-best" realm.

Found a sampler case by chance. I must say this is rather good. It’s aroma is of a distinct malt and hop charachter. The appearance is a very sexy reddish amber, with a finger thick head. It tastes and aroma are on par, with good balances of malt and hops. Their is a bit of a liquor taste as well. It’s a very nice smooth finish.

The aroma is stale like with wet bag, grain, yeast and hops. The appearance is amber with a small head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is average. I don’t like this one but it’s not bad.

From a 12 fl. oz. bottle but there is no lot code or date on it that I can see. Acquired in May 2008. Attractive ruby red-caramel colored pour. Head dissipates quickly. I notice more malts on the nose than hops. Medium body. The flavor has a hint of chocolate but I would say it is more malted. I do not taste much alcohol and that is pleasing to me. A quality brew.
