Gearys London Porter

Bottle, from Supreme Liquors, Cambridge MA, 4 October 2009. Dark brown with a ruby tinge. Scant head. Lots of chocolate in the aroma. Roast malt and chocolate flavour. A touch of sweetness - treacle toffee. Pretty tasty.

Dark black pour with a tan head. Aroma is malty with a bit of smoke/roast. Mouthfeel is a little thin but not horrendous. Flavor is a bit flat but decently full maltiness. Not a lot going on, overall a little blah.

12oz screwtop bottle. I seem to have enjoyed this one more than most of the reviewers here. Sure it is nothing spectacular but it is pretty good. Big malt taste with a nice amount of smokiness. It also has some spiciness to it, maybe cinnamon? All the big taste without the big alcohol. Not bad.

Outrageous! i enjoyed this porter very much. Poured a dark black with a strong head. Aroma of roasted malts. Flavor of malts as well, along with choclate and notes of cinnamon - yes, cinnamon! Thick and rich, it felt great to drink. A beer fo savoring. Finished smooth. Exactly what I had wanted.

Draught@Redbones, Boston. Pretty thin porter. Really not much happening. Some light roast, some green apple flavours, but not much else.

(bottle - 12 oz) Dark black pour with a thin tan head. Aroma has a good amount of roasted malts mixed with some sweetness. Flavor is lightly roasted coffee at the beginning with a roasty and light chocolate middle. Finishes dry and roasted with a dry bitter coffee note. A bit thin.

Very dark in color, not much head. A little lacing. Good aroma of coffee and some anise. Taste has some bitter roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Better room temp.
