| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 12, 2005 12 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with a large fluffy tan head. Aroma of light hops, roasted malts, with hints of chocolate. Flavors of coffee, roasted malt, light hop bitterness. Finish is a little weak with a mineral and slightly metallic taste following the burnt toast maltiness. Mouthfeel is thin with soft carbonation leaving a somewhat watery impression. Very drinkable session beer, but nothing special. Megan (101), Durham, North Carolina, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 26, 2005 Deep black porter with a nice thick moka head. Sweet vinous chocolate aroma, very smooth and sweet, with vanilla points. In mouth, lightly lactic smooth chocolate, not too sweet but lacking in roastiness. Very restrained but sustained bitter chocolate. Not bad considering the beer is over a year old. Cletus (5055), Connecticut, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 22, 2005 Dark chocolate brown pour with little head, even with some encouraging. Toasted malts with a touch of spice and cocoa to the nose. Pretty tame for a porter and I thought single dimensional until a late coffee, caramel registered. Good honest porter but nothing over the top. CapFlu (3483), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jul 3, 2005 (12 oz bottle) Pours very dark brown, beige head. Some lacing, some of head kind of coagulates and floats on surface in globs. Mouthfeel a bit watery but not bad. Tastes pretty ho-hum, I was getting a vegetable-like aftertaste, like I’ve tasted in homebrew.
