Commercial Description:
Faithfully recreated by Geary's, this classic English style has a deep mahogany color and a restrained roasted malt flavor. The result is rich and complex, yet smooth and refreshing.

Black black black black black in color with a charred malty aroma that continues into the sip. Fizzy mouthfeel thatjust doesn’t sit well with me. If they tones down the char and the fizz, it would be wonderful.

smells like coffee and roasted fruit. tasty. smooth. plums, chocolate, a hint of smokyness. one of the better porters i’ve had. oh yeah- there was a sourness similar to that of an oatmeal stout.

Burnt cocoa in the aroma. Opaque brown with thin tan head. Bitter, sour, lactic and burnt, charred. Body is thin. Bottle.

Pours nearly black with a thick tan head that mostly disappears. I totally agree with CaptainCougar: aroma is burnt popcorn and caramel. Thin body for a porter. Sourness in the flavor. Finish mildly reminiscent of wet cigarette butts. Yeah.

No real head, lets a little light through. Aroma of cherries, coffee and alcohol. Very bitter, sour - almost lemony.

Pours an almost black, dark brownish color with a thick tan head. Has a burned butter popcorn and caramel malt aroma. Body starts lightly sweet with some cookie dough finishes semi-dry and earthy. Just doesn't have the complexity and balance I like.
