Commercial Description:
Faithfully recreated by Geary's, this classic English style has a deep mahogany color and a restrained roasted malt flavor. The result is rich and complex, yet smooth and refreshing.

Very dark in color, not much head. A little lacing. Good aroma of coffee and some anise. Taste has some bitter roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Better room temp.

Pours a dark brown, sits black. Two finger creamy light tan head. The nose is buttery/diacetyl, some roast, sweetness. The flavor shows some coffee, astringent grain bitterness, pretzel bread taste, roast, some diacetyl, not too awesome. Palate is sharp, astringency that I’m not digging.

This dark brown ale poured with a massive tan head and a coffee aroma. There is a rich chocolate malt flavor, but the flavor is thin and the palate is light. Overall, not bad but not remarkable.

Bottle from Bottle Barn. Pours dark brown with a big tan head. Aromas of coffee and toasted malt. Near medium body with moderate carbonation. Flavor is mostly coffee, but I swear there is some celery. Seems to be a touch of citrus. Finishes with sharpish flavor. A little off style to my test.

Bottle: Taste like coffee. A little watery. A good drinking beer, an ok porter.
