| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 17, 2008 Pours a near black colour with a medium mocha head with decent lacing. The nose is dusty with mild berry and coffee notes. The flavour is a bit of an improvement from the nose. There is a nice balance of roasted malts and dark fruits, but notes of stale coffee and dust ruin its positive points. The mouthfeel creamy and perfectly carbonated. emerica56 (581), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 10, 2008 Pours a dark brown color with a thin head and mild laceing along the sides of the glass. The nose is kind of weak and bland. the flavor is very watery and not as robust, it is mildly bitter and the roasted grains are somewhat presant but not really. Overall it is an allright brew but could be better. Wulfstan (509), California, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Sep 21, 2008 This is a very nice, solid porter. Essentially black, it has a huge, light brown head steadily shrinking to a thin top with a little weak lace. It has a nice porter aroma of toasty dark bread with hints of dark fruit, chocolate, coffee, and wine. The taste is light in body, zesty (less light and lively than Nethergate Old Growler, but more so than many), with a clean flavour of toasted dark bread, light roastiness, a sweet fruitiness folowed by drier, toasty finish with hints of chocolate and black pepper. It’s quite drinkable. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 24, 2008 Bottle from my trip to Vermont. Pours a dark black color with a small head. Aroma is fine of chocolate and molasses. But flavor is bitter, watery and almost tart. Too dry for me. Give me a Fullers Porter please!!! Gethinbeer (1001), Nova Scotia, Canada

Great smooth texture. this beer has plenty of flavour and is easy to quaff.. Roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Lovely. Better this time than the sampler at Seaport beer fesival, Halifax. mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
