Aroma of cocoa and some roasted malt with faint charcoal coming through. It had a dry taste of cappuccino and chocolate with a nice burnt malt finish. Palidor19 (1791), Brandon, Florida, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 14, 2008 The aroma is very toasty with chocolate, roasted malt, and coffee. The appearance is dark brown with a smaller head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall it’s pretty good. cazort (419), Newark, Delaware, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 1/5 | 12/20 | Apr 28, 2008 (Bottle) If you drink from the bottle, the carbonation explodes in your mouth, leaving a very strong metallic flavour. Pouring into a glass is mandatory! Annoying to pour, however...the head is absolutely out of control. The head is rich in aroma but has a metallic flavour. The beer itself? The malt flavour is decent. There’s a little sweetness, some bitterness, although the bitterness is dwarfed by the metallic character, still present in the beer itself. A heavy beer, and a little too syrupy. Flat, once the carbonation is all lost. When the beer enters your mouth, you feel the carbonation flare up but what is left is flat. Wins on flavor and aroma, loses big-time on palate. What would be a great drinking experience is ruined by the strange character of this beer’s carbonation. Best when very cold!!!!! | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 1, 2008 Bottle. Caramel and toffee with red berry and a little chocolate and brown sugar/mocha porter must. Coke-into-pitch colored pour with a light brown, scrumptiously large and rocky head. Roast taste, lightly bitter and a little raw, with mocha-ish roast powder leaking out of the watery body. Crisp attack with a touch of sourness and only light bitterness. Robustly flavorful, but out of balance; a good, if still somewhat mangled, rendition of porter. Pwn3d (1088), Manhattan, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 18, 2008 Poured dark. Chocolate and malt notes are well balanced in this american take on the english style. Better than your average porter. estoppel (1028), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 17, 2008 Bottle. Dark brown body, medium off-white head, dark chocolate nose. Sweet, fudge-like chocolate flavor with backing cake-like malt flavors. Very nice. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
| 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 2/20 | Feb 5, 2008 Bottle. Fluffy head is pretty dense but short lived. Body is medium with a floral flavor. Lively carbonation with a mellow smokiness. Right before you drink though, there is a flavor that I can only describe as that taste after you puke. I hate to keep going back to the glass to confirm it but I just had to and that’s what it is. I dont think I care for Gearys beers.
