Commercial Description:
Faithfully recreated by Geary's, this classic English style has a deep mahogany color and a restrained roasted malt flavor. The result is rich and complex, yet smooth and refreshing.

Bottle sampled. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, and light caramel. Flavor is roasted malts, coffee, and hints of bitter chocolate with a lightly sweet finish.

Wow, I really don’t like it. Color is deep wth no head. Flavor is too watery, not enough punch. I would never get this again.

This is part of a beer club. Had only one bottle but was decent for the price. Poured great and had a nice finish. Would do again.

Bottle. Pours translucent dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of roasty malt, and just a touch of soap. Light body and moderate carbonation. Lightly sweet taste with a dash of chocolate and roasted nuts. I’m picking the soap up again on the finish.

"another middle of the pack porter. maybe i’m being a little generous. the standards are there- roasted flavor, coffee taste. dry finish. some bitterness to it- hops or roasted malt, i’m not sure. if i want a porter and nothing else is available, i’d get it again."

12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma was of smokey peat with a hint of chocolate. Mouthfeel was a bit thin. Taste was of roasted malts with a slightly smokey taste. Dry finish. I love Porters and this was ok , but not one of the best.

Looks pepsi...maybe a little darker. The aroma is subtle sweet, not bad. Lots of carbonation, at least it covers up the taste. Body a little watery. Not much to the palate. I found typical porter flavors, but very mild and supressed by metal and dirt. finishes sour and a bit bitter. The commercial description is most right, aside from this beer being rich or complex. Not going to finish this one.
