Commercial Description:
Faithfully recreated by Geary's, this classic English style has a deep mahogany color and a restrained roasted malt flavor. The result is rich and complex, yet smooth and refreshing.

Looks pepsi...maybe a little darker. The aroma is subtle sweet, not bad. Lots of carbonation, at least it covers up the taste. Body a little watery. Not much to the palate. I found typical porter flavors, but very mild and supressed by metal and dirt. finishes sour and a bit bitter. The commercial description is most right, aside from this beer being rich or complex. Not going to finish this one.

Rich, deep dark roast. Tan head, black body. Coffee and bittersweet chocolate finish. Nice porter.

Bottle. Nearly opaque brown black with a small lasting head. Aroma is dry-roasted, almost burnt, spicy cocoa and malt. Flavor is sourish espresso with graham crackers. Palate is medium bodied, slightly dry and has a bit of an acidic tingle.

Pours a deep dark cola color with a medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, wet cardboard and English coffee beans. Taste is malty with hints of bitter chocolate and light roasted coffee. Average.

Bottle. Deep dark pour with a short brown head. Chocolately roasted aroma accompanied by a think roasted taste. It was a little too carbonated and not heavy enough for a true porter.

12 oz brown bottle with a twist off cap, slightly more stubby than norm. Smelly hints of roasty porter, chocolates. Pours almost opaque but I do see some orange peeking thru, mahogany woodgrain. Hazy by no means. Good charge of sudden bitter that fades pleasantly. Almost roasted bitter dark chocolate initial flavor. Perhaps some blunt black coffee qualities. Good carbonation, pleasing to the back of the tongue. Some back of throat burntness but acceptable. Finish quite nice with some short time side of tongue bitter qualities. Overall, a good dark beer.

12oz bottle. Pours a very dark ruby brown. Virtually no head and no carbonation. Aroma is of molasses (with a hint of electronics :). First time is actually a bit sparkly, which is surprising given the lack of carbonation. Ah, now that I look closer from the top, I do see several rivers of small bubbles. The malt and molasses taste isn’t particularly strong at first taste, but it does give way to a decent smoky aftertaste. Overall, the body is lighter than I was expecting.

12 oz bottle. Pours a nearly opaque black with slightly red highlights when held to light. Moderate off white head. The aroma is mostly lightly roasted malt along with notes of chocolate and wet cardboard. The flavor is fairly unspectacular with light roasted malt being the dominant flavor, and at that it was very restrained. A little dry at the finish. The mouthfeel was perhaps a touch thin.
