Commercial Description:
Our flagship pale is a classic British pale ale with a nod to the legendary beers of Burton-on-Trent. Copper-colored, dry, clean and crisp with lots of late hope taste in an appetizing complex with ale fruitiness from imported Hampshire yeast.
Ingredients: Two row English malt (pale, crystal and chocolate); Cascade, Mt Hood, Tettnang and Fuggle Hops.

12 oz bottle while in Maine. Poured lightly hazy golden in color with a thin beige head that left no lacing on the glass. Aroma of wet malt, light earthy hops. Tastes of light caramel malt, hay, wet grain, lightly earthy hops. Pretty thin body.

Bottle poured a clear orange amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of carmel, fruittiness and light earthiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of carmel, earthiness and light citrus with a crisp lingering lightly bitter finish.

En fût. Pinte dégustée chez Great Lost Bear (Portland, ME). (Rating #2714)

Really didn’t do much for me. Not very pale, or fruity, or complex...did I miss something? Eh, I tried other Geary’s that were much better.

A: Poured on-tap with a very small head that quickly diminished to a thin film. The beer is a dark orange color, with a clear body with some slight haziness. S: Lightly hoppy and some citrus... pretty much exactly what you’d expect from an APA. T: Quite a nice flavor, coming across as citrusy at first, but then ending with a very nice, hoppy bitterness that sticks with you for a good amount of time after swallowing. M: Medium-bodied, with a creamy/oily texture. Nice carbonation. D: An easy-to-drink APA with good taste and mouthfeel. Nothing overly special, but still a very decent entry and probably my favorite Geary’s beer to date.

12 oz bottle - pours an amber color with a thick foamy tan head. Aroma of malt, sugar, caramel and dark fruit. The taste definitely lets you know that this is much more of an English Pale Ale and not a typical American Pale Ale - you don’t get the citrus / hoppy taste you get from an APA - this is much more in the way of malts, caramel, sugar and carbonation. It’s a solid ale.

Pours a golden orange with a little tiny head. Aroma is of some citrus and some tropical fruit....maybe some banana peel. Taste is similar with a wee bit of hops..modest carbonation. Yay.
