This pale tastes grand and smooth, but doesn’t excite the tongue too much and leaves a dry, yeasty aftertaste. Still, a perfectly good showing for the style. porterhouse (1163), Alna, Maine, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 31, 2005 This is my go to beer if I’m not trying anything new. It’s balanced enough to drink everywhere at anytime with anything. Easy drinking hoppy, crisp, and dry all at once. Finishes clean without a lingering aftertaste. A good choice all the time. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 10, 2005 Medium amber pour supporting a tall dirty white head with very little lacing. Crisp malty aroma with a little summer mellon sweetness and just a hint of pepper. Lightly toasted malt up front followed by flavors of biscuit, orange zest, milk chocolate and hops. Finish was dry and slightly bitter. An average beer which blends well with plenty of foods but which doesn’t stand out in any significant way. lagermonkey (597), Marietta, Georgia, USA

Beer is light amber, clear with little head. Light carbonation and head dissipates quickly.
Hoppy aromas with hint of apple. Light malt aroma and spices I can’t discern.
Taste is bitter and hoppy. Hints of sour apple. Lightly malty with hints of lemon as well. Medium bodied with light hoppy aftertaste. Very smooth and drinkable but flavorful as well. Very well balanced. The best pale ale brewed in Maine and my local go-to brew. Goes anywhere with anything.

Sweet malty aroma with a piney presence in the back ground. Sweet taste with some hops. Really enjoyable, ot overpowering. Had a slighly over-carbonate finish.
