Light bodied and surprisingly there’s a hint of smoothness to this one. Quite pleasing. beaconstreet (811), Washington DC, USA

Not too pleased... felt like the beer was germinating in my mouth. Went okay with the excellent house nachos... though maybe a Stella or a Bare Knuckle would have been better. hopdog (5630), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Nov 24, 2004 Poured a medium, clear golden color with an averaged sized off white head. Lightly fruity and bready. Dry finish. Nothing really stood out and struck me as anything special. It’s not a bad beer but not one that I would actively seek out. Maybe a good session beer... clong83 (243), San Diego, California, USA

I was really in the mood for a good hoppy ale tonight, and this really hit the spot. Nicely refreshing, very dry with light malt flavors. Aftertaste is realtively smooth for the style. Delicious. Very competent beer, I highly recommend. JPDIPSO (4944), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA

Mild floral aroma with a light caramel accent. Dry pale malt and minty hops through the first portion of the quaff. Clean and crisp for a pale. Some light fruit in the middle. A refreshing brew. An ale for a hot summer day. Thanks John. Drew (2410), Kent, Ohio, USA

Fred Schneider yells in my ear as I drink this pale ale - must be the label. Nicely balanced - sweet bready malts with just enough hops. Deep golden body, short head and good lacing. Aroma is fresh and enticing. Maybe it’s just the label, but I’m thinking that this would taste great with some fresh shellfish. MaiBockAddict (1499), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 6, 2004 2004 bottle @ Dos Amigos in Belfast, ME. Pours a lovely brilliant coppery color with a small white head. Aroma of light barley, hints of light almonds, dry crisp hops. Flavor is pleasantly bitter but has an ample balance and is no acidic. While this definitely remains an English Pale Ale, it ventures slightly in to American Pale ale category, with a good amount of hops. Though they are soily, and lightly herbal almost. Malt is dry and cookie like, and provides a great balance. A wonderful, drinkable beer, medium to medium full body, no thinning.
