Commercial Description:
Our flagship pale is a classic British pale ale with a nod to the legendary beers of Burton-on-Trent. Copper-colored, dry, clean and crisp with lots of late hope taste in an appetizing complex with ale fruitiness from imported Hampshire yeast.
Ingredients: Two row English malt (pale, crystal and chocolate); Cascade, Mt Hood, Tettnang and Fuggle Hops.

I had this beer at Rupununi In Bar Harbor. The color is dark noney with no head maybe it sat at the bar for to long. It has a bitter taste it seemed like a high alcohol % but was not. It has a nice taste of hops and light fruits. All in all very good pale ale.

Very nice English pale. I haven’t had much of these. Aroma of grass and hops. Pour was a nice medium amber with a 1 finger white head. Taste was mostly grassy hops with a tad of malt to balance it out. Nice and dry finish with some floral tones. Very nice and easy to drink.

Poured from the bottle to a golden amber, with thin off-white head that dissipated quickly and left little lacing. Strong hoppy aroma of floral, perfume and grass was followed by flavor of the same, though it was more pleasant in the nose than the mouth. Finish was short, dry and stale, probably due to these floral hops. Michael Jackson listed this in his 500 Great Beers guide....I’m thinking he must have added this one toward the end. Not much to this one.

Thanks John for not sending me an IPA, and I saved this pale ale till last. I owe a trade to jjpm74 for these last quality brews he’s sent me. These Geary’s twist off caps are sometimes difficult to get off with out an opener. Tear my skin. Wet raggish initial aroma when you pop the lid, this may be the smell of my skin. When you pour it, the olfactory becomes more sweet and volatile. Darker amber brown orange color, looks like Gearys Hampshire Special. Good tingly first taste impression, not a whole lottta hop. Tastes cold even though it is warming, very complex. Malty alky bitterness begins to build on the back of the palate. So this is from the US’s Great White North? Not bad from the state of Maine. This is a pretty good representative for a flag ship beer. Not bitter enough to offend new brew drinkers and bitter enough to let an IPA lover know you’re concerned. Lovely carbonation, some of the best in an EPA. Even better than Great Divide which is a carbonated line. Finish is medium length bitter, but not out of control, just nearly. Best EPA I’ve had to date, even better than Black Dog and Great Divide Denver Pale Ale.

Pours a clear slightly lighter brown. Nose is a bit wood like with a slight caramel character. Flavoris smooth, but doesn’t really carry a strong profile. There are bark tones to it and a mild mature wood sweetness to it, but it never really kicks you in the mouth. This is just one of those mature beers. Nothing showy. Not trying to be outlandish. It is what it is. Feel is smooth on the liquid with a decent carbonation. Highly drinkable. Just an overall good beer. Well made and smooth.

Bottle. Poured dark amber/copper with a mostly lasting frothy head. Aroma primarily chewing-gum esters, with some citrusy hops underneath. Grainy to light caramel malt flavor with more fruitgum esters and some grassy to citrusy hops. A bit of a leafy finish. OK session EPA, but nothing to seek out.
