Oakes (6973), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jun 24, 2008 Golden-amber colour. Earthy, minerally nose with hints of diacetyl. Rather light body. More diacetyl than I’d like and not enough body. Some minerals but this is kind of lousy. argo0 (6230), Washington DC, USA Jan 19, 2004 Updated: Feb 22, 2004Quickly dissipating small beige head atop a clear amber body. Aroma is sweet, caramel, butterscotch, some peach and faint earthy/floral. Taste is light sweet, pretty strong earthy, some caramel, light toffee. amber, whispy head, strong sweet malt aroma, mild malt flavor with a touch of carmel sweetness, nice lingering bitter finish, overall would make a nice english bitter

hopdog (4645), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 24, 2004 Poured a medium, clear golden color with an averaged sized off white head. Lightly fruity and bready. Dry finish. Nothing really stood out and struck me as anything special. It’s not a bad beer but not one that I would actively seek out. Maybe a good session beer... hopscotch (4579), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Nov 4, 2003 Very pretty, sparkling clear amber ale. Starts off with a really big, fizzy, off-white head. Ends up as a lasting, small, creamy head.
The nose is malty with some very light chocolate and fruitcake notes.
The flavor is well-balanced, but a touch odd. Not unpleasant, just odd... almost like formaldehyde. Well-bittered. Astringent.
Light-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish. Decent ale. Definitely doubles as a preservative. Keep a bottle handy to pump into the veins of a deceased loved one.
