The color, I think, is very current with the style. A balanced golden hue emits with a clear and inviting color. The white head reveals a nose of many hops. Interesting that these varieties where used. The English malt is a nice touch also. I think this beer is a fine example of what brewing needs to take place in America. German style, American hops, British malt. Very refreshing with a frim malt body that mellows and develops into a crisp but complex finish of biscuity fruit and hop richness. Definantly a fresh bottle. Very balanced and spicy. I love this style and I think it was well executed. The abv. may be a little high, not neccessarily for the style but for a summer offering. This might be dangerous when I’m thirsty. Any sweet malt is quickly checked by hops, this also means it’s not by cold conditioning. Though I might be wrong. I give points for style and inventiveness. Golden, darker than a lager, about average for an ale. Small off-white head. Sweet malt, spicey hop, I sense something sweet and fruity, maybe peach or apricot, that i did not expect. Good bitter finish early in the glass. Later on the dominant flavor is somehow off ... of spoiled vegetable, lightly skunked. Perhaps a summer ale should be drunk before the following March. //
Had this summer’s batch this summer. Beautiful golden ale with good white head, great nose of European (German and Czech) hops, more floral hoppiness than I prefer, but a good bitter finish without any of the nastiness I noticed in the older one. Good malts and caramel, good bitterness. The floral notes make it a good summer brew. paul9639 (116), New Hampshire, USA

Light and a little citrussy, reminded me a bit of summer. Not terrible at all. A mild hint of honey afterwards. Hoppy, but not bitter. hershiser2 (914), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Tasted just like a regular ale. No special seasonings or hops. Very forgetable. duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England

What I got instead was a boring grassy beer with some mild reminiscences of summer, but far short of what I was hoping for.
