| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 5, 2005 (12oz bottle) Crystal clear amber body topped by medium off-white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, bread. Taste is medium sweet, bread, caramel, light pepper, lemon. Some earthy and light grassy in the finish. Light-medium body, light stickiness, easy drinking. Seems to have more the characteristics of an alt than a kolsch. 3daddict (139), Portland, Maine, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 15, 2005 It poured a clear medium dark amber with an average head. Subtle grassy hop aroma with just a touch of citrus peel. Perfect ale flavor, very mild spice, nicely balanced with a slightly dry, bitter finish. A no miss choice for a summer ale DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 14, 2005 Dark straw/light copper color with aroma of hopcit, spicy florals, and some esters. Tastes medium palated, with a smooth, refreshing hop/fruit/spice finish. A very good kolsch/summer beer, although if I’m not mistaken they drink kolsches all year round in Germany, whether it’s summer or not. shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 28, 2005 Clear orange with no head. Spicy and malty. Slight hop character. The flavor is a light citrusy hop with a spicy malt. Interesting. willblake (2191), Belcamp, Maryland, USA

Aroma is very much like caramel candy with underlying hints of hoppy spice. Flavor is mild, clean to finish. Lots of bready malt and only a touch of spice - grassy hops and the end. This really reminds me of the Alaskan Summer Ale but a milder version. If nothing else, it brings back good memories. jasonp (1513), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 14, 2005 Clear golden/light copper with a medium white head. Aroma of light caramel, grassy hops. The flavor has much more life than the aroma; notes of lemon/citrus, caramel, floral/grassy hops and pepper. Pleasantly sweet and malty with a crisp, bitter hoppy finish. Full, round and creamy on the palate with lively carbonation. Not much lacing, ok head retention. Overall, a nice tasty beer. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 7, 2005 Bright deep gold. Nose hoppy, sweet malt, grassy. Unusually biscuity for a supposed kolsch, quite hoppy at the end. Quite bready. Expect crispness in a kolsch, this was a decent beer but didn’t strike me as particularly kolsch-y.
