| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 30, 2007 Poured a gold color with faint orange/red hues. The white head left a great lace pattern on the glass. Aroma is soapy and only slightly citrus. The flavor was nice, malty but with a nice earthy touch. Not too bitter or astringent. Slightly watery at the end. I prefer other IPAs but this was drinkable. SwillNoMore (105), USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 5, 2007 Bottle, from mug. Crystal clear light-copper body, with a quickly dissipating bubbly white head and poor lacing. Aroma is fruity (peaches), with an earthy note and just a touch of diacetyl. Body is medium-full, with a lightly oily texture and active carbonation. Flavor shows a sweet malt underbelly beneath a tangy zip; the earthiness also shows itself again here, which was nice. Finishes bitter, if somewhat astringent. I’ve had a few Geary’s brews now, and the term "over processed" always comes to mind. I like my beer the way I like my women: a little rough around the edges--a little wild. Still, I enjoyed this well enough, although it’s a bit tame for an American IPA. Better from the bottle. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 24, 2006 From 12 oz. Mild grainy aroma with some hops detected. Clear light amber with a thin white head. Tastes of grains, corn, some malt. Palate is pretty average. Doesn’t really hold up to its seasonal or IPA titles. Sammy (4051), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 23, 2006 Not significant head, golden colour, a good floral and spice aroma and spicy aftertaste. The golding and fuggle hops are understated. Appropriate carbonation. Cross style to a winter warmer. mouthfeel on the thin side.I am surprised this was on clearance at Belmont Part Goods in Dayton, maybe it was last year’s, but it was good value. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 21, 2006 An hazy orange amber ale with a thin white head. Lightly sprucey hops with light alcohol notes. In mouth, a dry IPA , not sweet, with very herbal hops, with the alcohol coming after, like drinking gin. Astringent. A tad unpleasant. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 17, 2006 Bottle. Clear amber color with a moderate frothy head. Sprucey and floral hop aroma. Citrusy hop and light caramel malt flavor, but with a somewhat tart metallic finish and a wet sock aftertaste. Odd choice of style for a winter beer (though SN Celebration pulls it off), especially given the rather thin palate here. As far as winter specialties go, this one misses the mark.
